Abhyudaya

“Educate, Everyone, Everywhere” is the motto of project Abhyudaya, an education initiative for socially deprived children by Keshava Kripa Samvardhana (KKSS). KKSS is a government registered charitable organization which came into existence in 1963 and is registered under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It is also registered with the NGO Darpan by NITI Aayog. Currently, it is working on the Sustainable Development Goals by United Nations to create an inclusive and prosperous world for all sections irrespective of all the differences.




The word Abhyudaya means prosperity. KKSS runs various projects related to education, healthcare, livelihood, and environment under the name Abhyudaya. The vision of KKSS is to build a strong community by empowering the socially deprived sections of the society through education, which they are trying to achieve through Abhyudaya. In education, Abhyudaya is working since 2004 and supported more than 30,000 socially deprived students out of which 70% are girls and women. The projects are carried out by almost 160 volunteers from diverse professional fields.

Abhyudaya is engaged in various social welfare activities and their key activities include

Kalika Kendras (Free Learning Centers- FLC)
Abhyudaya is currently reaching up to about 2,000 socially deprived students through more than 100 Kalika Kendras spread across Bengaluru. More than 135 local teachers and almost 25 mentors are part of this. Here students are engaged for two hours daily after school where they are helped to do their assignments, to attain higher grades and also to develop their skills. It has almost 32,000 beneficiaries till the date.

Vidyanidhi
It is an initiative to provide financial aid to academically excellent students from low-income families, which is benefitted for almost 6,500 students.

Chetana
Adoption of rural schools to provide basic infrastructure. Fifty-five schools are part of this.

Jnanagiri
This is an initiative to conduct free coaching to students from 10th standard. Personality development activities and career counselling are given to them. Almost 2,600 children are benefited from this.

Namma Shaale
Adoption of rural schools to provide basic infrastructure. Fifty-five schools are part of this.

Aarohana
Offsite Annual and Cultural Competitions.

Rudhira
Blood donation and medical camps. Almost 75 camps have been conducted so far.

Parivarthana
Transforming lives of people with criminal backgrounds, addiction etc.

Team Abhyudaya has been working on ground since the beginning of COVID second wave. They are supporting several Government hospitals by providing doctors, nurses, vehicles, drivers, PPE kits, bed spread, pillow, regulators for oxygen cylinders, hand sanitizers, nasal prongs, NRB mask, European electrical extension boards, oximeter sand many more. They are currently providing COVID-19 care assistance in seven districts of Karnataka and in border areas of Jammu Kashmir-Ladakh . During the initial outbreak of COVID-19, they provided 30,000 people with ration for a month, 15,000 mask for COVID warriors , 1000 liter sanitizers, 15,000 packets of herbal immunity booster powder. They have also volunteered with government departments like Railways, Police, and Bruhut Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Abhyudaya is awarded with Social Media Conclave Award, Youth for Seva Award, Institute of Cost Accountants (ICAI) recognition and Certificate of Appreciation by Bharat Vikas Prishad. Abhyudaya is the 2020 Top-Rated NGO by GreatNonprofits (USA).

All of Abhyudaya’s programs are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals by UN. Their Mission is to complement the mainstream education system and to inculcate humanistic values to underprivileged children through collaborative volunteerism. They believe that a proper education creates sustainable development across the community. Today, Abhyudaya’s alumni are enrolled in medical, engineering, and post graduation courses. Many are employed in high-profile jobs like state administrators, cadre officers, and bank officers. Abhyudaya is continuing its journey of transforming the lives of socially deprived people.
